Mind's Eye
Where ghosts of the past speak in the present
And when he dances he sings the blues
Minds Eye
He leaves the light on afraid of the dark afraid of the shadows that move in the dark I remember it well I see it now the shades and apparitions of then in the past myriad of lights enter the room cascading colours some like halos some like waves tripping out and amazed lying on my bed in wonderment. Childhood fears and light always plays tricks on the mind and cryptic whispers when you’re all alone come out to play I heard them calling how I tried to join them but I never could they never gave me the key. I could see them somehow knew I was special spirits real spirits humour communicating with me and each other my secret friends that only I could see. Here in my head dances the stranger look at him. Here in my minds eye dances the stranger I recall as if it were a dream And when he dances he sings the blues about a life without a life….
To its end and its beginning
This is an old, old song written when I was a kid, a teen. It’s about seeing things which are supposedly not there, but they are. Coloured lights cascading in the room, a man wearing victorian clothes complete with top hat he has a slightly purple tinge to him. And I, lying on my bed. not afraid but mesmerised with the whole experience.
